I'm back!! At the moment

Some of my classmates who happen to stalk my blog even if it's dead reminded me (And telling everyone in the process) that I have a blog and I realised that they copied the image of the blog title with the unglam "Chinese sucked" title when they presented a study on communication technology.. In order to prevent that from happening again, I have created a post such that the unglamorous post will not appear in anyone's powerpoint slides... Of course, I won't stop you if you happened to use some of the beautiful pictures which can be found in some parts of my blog for presentations or some sort.. Since I'm blogging before I disappear again for another few years or so, I shall talk about some issues which arose from the time I was away.

Firstly, during my absence, I went to Germany for a 2 weeks holiday. It was a almost purely shopping trip as most of the time were spent shopping in cities like Hannover (where my sis lives), Berlin, Hamburg ... and of course not forgetting the ultra-long train journey which costs 28euros (~60SGD) for a 2-way trip to each city. In Germany everything is twice as expensive as in Singapore T_T so I didn't manage to buy a lot of things (though my sis and aunt still managed to buy a few dozens of shopping bags of clothes and accessories.) One of the most unforgettable experience is that it was the 1st time I've ever played with fireworks (thanks singapore!!).. It was frightening so I didn't want to play too much haha. And one more thing - I realised that I hate alcoholic drinks (maybe at the moment) because they taste bitter, and Germany didnt have any restrictions on age limits on alcohol (thanks singapore again!!)

After the trip, it is back to crazy holiday homework rushing (which the teachers didn't even bother to mark). Well I suppose it's supposed to rob us of our holidays and waste our time but give us more practice so that we will not forget our A levels... When school reopened I was back to the busy life... ahem...

Talking about A levels, I had 2 A level subject results, one being satisfactory, the other being.. bad i suppose, but neither being important haha... For my mother tongue (most commonly known as the most useless subject in school) I had a result that somehow astounded my chinese teacher.. Whereas for my project work, my result probably astounded the whole school (I'm one of the only 2 people in school who managed to get that grade!!)

Now the major problem is my student's portfolio since I didn't really actively participate in school activities since I joined TJ. What to write for top 3 achievements man... I only got a bronze award for chemistry olympiad and it's so shameful to write that as an achievement... Leo Club (my CCA) is an option but I don't really know what activities I have participated in... And even if I take the Nanyang Concept Test and get some sort of an award the award will probably not be out before I submit my achievements draft.. Somemore my civics tutor is going to write about my personality and she happens to teach a subject that requires handing in of homework and usually I tend to purposely forget about it.. My goodness my student portfolio is gonna suck T_T

Schoolwork aside, I have been exposed to korean pop by my good friends Aish, Ida and Germaine... Ever since I listened to SNSD's Gee I fell in love with the song and forgot about 2ne1 which was my favorite korean girl band... Omg when I went on to listen to their songs I realised that they sing really nice songs!! I didn't like them coz i was brainwashed by the 3 friends mentioned earlier who don't like them but now I realised that they're damn hot and pretty and cute and their songs are fantastic!!!
Currently my favorite korean bands are superjunior and SNSD which happen to be the largest boy and girl bands in Korea..

Hahaha Omg I can't believe so many months have passed since I last blogged... Tomorrow is my napha test and I'm aiming to get at least 3 points for it (overall, not individual lol) so wish me all the best!! JL Hwaiting!!

Chinese sucked

It is fairly obvious why mother tongue and project work are year 1 subjects. Cuz if they're not, nobody will care about them at all (ok except some cheena freaks and sadistic psychos)..

I can't believe 10 months have passed since I came into junior college. After days after days of excessive gaming and gossiping extreme mugging and enthusiastic learning, I managed to squeeze into the top 10% of the cohort.. Wowww.. Here comes my bursary scholarship, my money, my wives my freedom...

This year will be the year of my life, for it will (hopefully) be the 1st time I travel outside South-East Asia. Fantastic right? Apparently, I'm supposed to learn how to cook my father's Bak Kut Teh (meat bone tea..wtf??) and chicken rice, which my sister loves to eat, but I'm not interested in learning them anyway.. Might as well just write a recipe and let me go to Germany for some funnn... WAHAHAHAHAHAHA

BUT WAIT, before that, there are 2 horrific events of the year.. The first being the oral presentation and the other being the Singapore Chiimistry Olympiad.. Not like I care a lot for any of them, but since both of them are tests, and I'm pretty bored nowadays, I shall try my best to improve on them (though I still don't see any hope in them)...
Oral presentation especially. After several criticisms and personal attacks constructive feedbacks to improve myself, I still do not have the looks of someone who is presenting.. Many say that my oral presentation skills are not up to standard and I'm supposed to be very passionate about the project.. Moreover, my answers to the questions are quite crappy, and may even end up devaluating the project..
Chimistry Olympiad isn't much of a problem since it's not that important to me.. The reason why I decided to join it is solely because I get to skip PE because I want to learn more..

Nevertheless, I still look forward to 13th December (hopefully the plane doesn't crash...choiii) where I can experience winter for the 1st time bwahahahahahaahaaaaaa

FINALLY, I'M FEELING BORED AGAIN

Well this may be good news for blog stalkers, since I only blog when my boredom level rises to a maximum.

Next Monday will be the life-or-death mother tongue examination that will separate those who get to feel sad for missing their chinese teachers from those who feel sad for wasting another year learning a boring subject that is soooo popular with chinese students (well you can't deny that all of them took chinese one way or another, can you?).. As for me, I was happy that I managed to get C for chinese in my promotional exams, and is not intending to aim any higher. My teacher commented that most of my storylines are bizarre and unrealistic, despite not falling into the trap of writing off-topic. Well as long as we don't write off-topic, the content mark for paper 1 will definitely be passed... Hopefully the paper will be easy. You may ask why, since there's a process of moderation involved, but I don't want to waste too much of my brain cells in Chinese I want everyone to be happy and relaxed after the examination :)

Many sad things have been happening to me lately. Ranging from getting a B for Physics to having a talk with Mr Francis Tong, Head of the Discipline committee, regarding "behavioral" problem.
It's the first time in my entire life getting B for physics, and I feel that it's very pathetic.. It's my fault, I must admit, since I only value last minute work which obviously didn't help much (If it did, then it's even worse)... Physics is not exactly my best or favorite subject, but I didn't expect a disappointing grade such as that to be awarded... TO make up for this, I shall quit DOTA forever (though there's high probability that this is false)
After for the conversation with Mr Francis Tong, I have successfully got involved in all the Discipline Heads in Primary School, Secondary School(not very much though), and Junior College.. Quite an achievement right? I attended my second detention class in the year and had to write a Reflection letter. I wrote one before and I felt extremely bored so I decided to write something extraordinary... Apparently, they told us to pen down our true feelings but I learnt that we cannot write that we're bored, an ultimate irony.. Perhaps some nerds find detention class fun?? I don't really know.. An advice for everyone, should he ask you out for a nice conversation for behavioral issues, just say "I'm sorry, I'm in the wrong" before making any attempt to defend yourself.. Otherwise it will ultimately be your loss. (I was expected to not trust the SBS Transit and find out whether there's an earlier bus than stated on the board; I was expected to walk at at superhuman speed in order to reach school on time; I was expected to call the teacher despite being unfamiliar with their phone numbers when I'm late for detention class; I was expected to write something that the teachers will pleased to read; all because I tried to defend myself)... Well, I've learnt my lesson

H3 application was a horror for me... I forgot to attach my O level certificate and
NRIC photocopy to my application form, all thanks to having to rush down for detention class my negligence.. Now I probably have very little chance of getting my desired H3 subject... Furthermore, I was dissuaded from taking 2 H3 subjects from my teacher and friends... Apparently I have to make a very difficult decision (in fact it's a gamble) whether to drop my H2 geography to take 2 H3 or to keep H2 geography and take 1 H3 (which creates another problem, WHICH OF THE 2 SHOULD I TAKE??) .. Interested in chemistry, but I heard it's difficult. Not interested in maths, but I heard it's easy...

The most sad event, of course, is that some of my classmates may not be able to make it for JC2. Our class will definitely be much much emptier without them., that goes without saying.

I'm so busy... but I'm still bored

As stated in the title, I've been very busy for the past few weeks. But the main point is, I'm busy with things that I'm not interested in...
Firstly, I'm very busy with Project Work... There's this Evaluation of Material thing that constitutes only about 6.67% of my project work grade but requires me to spend 3 friggin hours of my life to do it (and still counting)... Then again, I heard that most of my friends spent more than 5 hours on it to my delight =) ... I don't really care much about my PW grade but I have to waste lots of time on it, even if I have to submit a lousy piece of assignment...
Secondly, I'm busy with the loads of General Paper homework... My new GP teacher gives soooo many assignments and threatens to give more if we don't complete them.. Now every week I have to cut out some weird newspaper articles and give comments on it. In case you didn't know, I'm an arch-enemy of the newspapers, and have quarreled with my parents several times as they always wanted me to read newspaper... I will seriously fall asleep within 10 minutes if I were to really sit down and concentrate on reading newspaper...
I'm also busy with LEO Club activities (not really)... The Installation & Induction ceremony required me to memorise the sign language of a song L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole WITHIN ONE WEEK... obviously enough, I couldn't be bothered to remember all those sign language and preferred to camouflage within those who could really do it.. Some time after that, I had to contact the primary school kiddywink whom I'm supposed to tutor for an appointment with him though this was mostly done by janet
Lastly, I'm busy with the renovation of my house... It's so friggin irritating that every weekend, which are my supposed leisure time, I have to help my parents to renovate the house by shifting furniture, arranging things blahblahblah...

As for JCT results, I'm lazy to post everything here, but I got AAAC/S/C in the order PCMG/G.P./C.L. ... Quite expected for me to sub-pass GP since newspapers and magazines (Times, Broader Perspectives) are usually chucked aside while I read my manga... Sub-passing GP doesn't really motivate me to read more, for goodness sake haha... If I fail it in promos then too bad lo I can go get retained...
My biggest achievement is that I passed geog and even got 4th in level for it (out of of 50+ students only =.=)Like omg?? I don't even know how I managed that... Even though I did study a lot of geography during the holidays, I didn't expect to do so well...

That's all for the post, bye-biii

June Common Test's over!! ... soon...

2 days before JianLiang's last test in the highly notorious TJCT, he finally found the mood to write a post in this nearly forgotten blog. During the June holidays, JianLiang had been reading up a lot on geography so as not to write a bloody 1 page essay that has happened before (though he's happy that Mr Charles Elwin didn't give him back the test paper... yet...) and also because his parents were nagging and bitching at him every single day in his June holidays.

Of course, rather than studying for the JCT 24/7 which is like meaningless and boring, JianLiang has also been concentrating in leveling up his maplestory character (which is also why his parents nagged so much). As a result of his hard work, he painstakingly brought his priest to 4th job (aka bishop). Such an irony, though, that JianLiang chose to play a job that is so closely related to religion despite being a free thinker (or maybe atheist). However, he find that this job in maple is most suitable for him as he prefers supporting (and magic) to brutal combat (though maple's killing mode isn't that brutal...). Some of his dishonest and sly classmates commented that it's easy to reach that level using bots and hacks... Such illegal progams are not even within his reach, and JianLiang will definitely not use them as using them will bring smiles to the hackers who apparently destroyed many maplers lives by "confiscating" their items and money as payment for the hack...

During the June holidays, JianLiang was not able to go out often because he apparently ran out of money because his parents refused to pay him for all the notes and stationeries he paid for with his meagre allowance...
After the June holidays, the much awaited June Common Test has begun, with the first paper being his worst of the worst subject... Surprisingly, JianLiang managed to write a 2 page essay for both questions (each), and hereby concluded that he improved by 100% ever since the last essay test.. Most of the tests that JianLiang did were held in the air-conditioned classroom (which is good) except CHINESE LANGUAGE, where the classroom was so warm!! Sheeesh, the thick material used in the school uniform didn't help at al!!

Lastly, JianLiang would like to thank the Singapore Examination Assessment Board for robbing him of his only chance to get an award from Tanjong Katong Secondary School... What a perfect coincidence that his GCE 'A' Level Chinese Language Oral Examination falls on 15th July, which is the speech day for his secondary school, and also the day of release of Harry Potter: Half-Blood Prince's sneak preview. Hopefully, the oral examination will end before the gossip club members go and watch the sneak preview, or JianLiang will really "love" SEAB, and the language, for eternity...

Ciao (which means later in japanese Italian I guess)--- thanks to wanchen for pointing it out

Huh? What do you mean by title?

It's been 3 weeks since JianLiang last blogged since he has been busy with the numerous homework + project task... Nevertheless, he has found a perfect time to blog, that is when his brother has been using the computer (with games inside) from day to night...

In the past few weeks, JianLiang had been to 2 concerts, namely the Musique pour Tonjours by TJ Chinese Orchestra (TJCO) as well as the Prelude 29 by TJC Symphonic Band (TJCSB)... Both are pretty successful as both halls seem to be full... There are also some surprising elements in each concert ..hee
TJCO: They invited the magician from TJC and made some of the orchestra members appear out of nowhere... JianLiang wondered if there's a trick to it or was it real magic as seen in computer games... The TJCO members also seemed like they enjoyed playing the music as JianLiang could see many of them dancing to the song/beat
TJCSB: JianLiang went to support the 4 band members from his class and also some others who are from other classes...The Stage Band part of the concert was like WOW!! It was totally hilarious... JianLiang couldn't believe that the JC1s came up with such an idea... Other than that, the music was pleasant to listen to and JianLiang regretted missing the 1st piece (Machu Pikachu) since SOMEONE decided to come late... And lastly, JianLiang noticed a whole chunk of grammatical errors when he read the programme schedule... O.o

On Wednesday, 13th May 2009, JianLiang had his first (and hopefully the last) detention class... It was very, very, very boring haha... Those in detention class had to write a reflection about what they have done wrong... After which, they were given articles about behaviour and discipline to read (or at least pretend to).. The worst thing is, they didn't let anyone sleep lol.. Discipline Committee people are so evil heeheee

On Friday, 22nd May 2009, JianLiang had his first (AND ALSO HOPEFULLY THE LAST) beach cleaning organised by the LEO club.. It is there that he realised that the east coast park beach is quite a good place to study geography (by identifying rocks)... Not like he didn't pick up any litter at all, but most of the time, he was strolling along the beach and was pretending to find finding some litter..

About every JC1s' (or at least those in TJC) most hated topic, JianLiang project work group was having a lot of problems working on the emergency proposal.. As a result, they have decided to change to conservation... This is a relief to many of the members in his group as they all seemed to have a headache about how to carry out the proposal... Conservation is a much easier topic (at least until our proposal is rejected...touch wood!)

Fine I'll blog

Since many of JianLiang's blog fanatics were complaining that his blog was "dead" (was it ever alive in the 1st place) and that he had not blogged for a long time, he will take pity on them and blog again!!

As you can see, JianLiang has been very busy these few weeks, trying to do the super epic gigantic loads of homework that the teachers gave him.. The numerous tests that were held these few weeks didn't make it any better as JianLiang had to study for them.. One such test is the very lovely Human Geography test on Migration that JianLiang had to take the day before Labour Day... He studied a long time* for it, only to find that despite OPENLY cheating, in other words, putting the notes on the table and asking friends for help (while being ignored in the process), he could only manage to write 1 page.. ONE page for 2 essays... Wooow!! Amazing right... The only person who can beat win him in terms of shortness of essay is probably Sherwin**, although JianLiang is pretty confident that he's going to win (in terms of shortness)...
*Long time: Long time, in JianLiang's context, means more than an hour
**Sherwin: A guy who likes to molest JianLiang

And also, the Physics test that was held on the same day was equally horrible... Many blanks could be detected on JianLiang's paper as he had not enough time to complete it... And the fact that he could not copy from anyone beside him didn't help Nope he didn't think of cheating at all!! ^^

On Friday (aka Labour Day), JianLiang had to wake up pretty early*** in the morning considering that it's a holiday and he slept late the night before... He went out in a hurry, thinking that he's going to be late.. And yes, he was 5 minutes late, but the thing is, HE WAS THE EARLIEST PERSON TO REACH THERE!!! To think that he specially woke up 2 hours before the meeting time (12pm)
***early: In JL's context, (waking up) early during a non-schooling day means anytime before 12pm
To be honest, the outing was pretty boring for him.. He had to go on windows shopping for things that doesn't interest him much.. As the picture goes,

it's pretty boring to go shopping with girls, since it took a very long time before he got from 1st storey to the cinema/arcade(last storey).. Afterwards, he and his Gossip Club members found out that the movie screening time of "17 again" is at 6.20pm, which was pretty late and since JianLiang was already deprived of the mood to watch a movie, he decided to give it a miss. He went to play arcade games with the Gossip Club members after being decorated by Ida* by wearing the clothes she picked out for him at the 77th street..
Originally, they planned to go Seow Koon's** house to have steamboat dinner, sing karaoke, do homework etc.. But somehow, JianLiang and the Gossip Club ended up in Tampines Mall doing some boring window shopping.. Ironically, they did not gossip at all.. Zzzz
*Ida: A cool girl in the Gossip Club, you have no idea how stylish and cool she looked during the Gossip Club meeting XD
**Seow Koon: A weird blog fanatic who alternates the spectacles he wear every day, loves black and white (funeral colour) stuff, carries a sling bag in a gay manner and has a birthday on April Fools' Day.. Lol

That's all for today...bye
